MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!

EVERYTHING AT MYGEDLIVE.COM WILL BE FREE AS OF AUGUST 1, 2022

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

I started teaching GED Prep in 2001 in a local adult school. The pay was low, but I really needed a second job and I immediately fell in love with it. I wished I could do it full time, but my family was growing, and it would have to be part time - two nights a week.

I got really good at it and by 2009 I was posting videos of my classes on You Tube and selling videos and workbooks that I created for my local students.

By 2011 I was earning great side money online and reaching thousands of students! Although I never reached my goal of doing this full time, this provided some great vacations for my family, allowed my wife to not need to work full time, paid sports fees for my athletic children and even paid off a few car notes - so all in all - 21 years later - I feel very blessed. Most importantly, I literally have helped thousands of adult students to pass the GED Test. This is one of the crowning achievements of my life - that no one can take from me!

Once COVID hit, my workbook and course sales fell to the floor. Some months - I barely broke even with my expenses to run my website and courses.

That got me thinking about three things; 1. I no longer need the extra money (don't get me wrong, it's nice but God has been good to me, and my family and we have all we need). 2. I no longer care about the "thousands of students" - I just want to help anyone who wants my help. 3. I still have lots to offer and tons of content to share!

So, I decided - I'm going to offer everything thing I have for free - remove my personal expectation for profit and just go for the purity of being an online teacher with a great course - great workbooks - great videos - great worksheets - and a great 20-year track record of helping students.

WHAT'S THE CATCH - IS IT REALLY FREE?

Everything on my new website will be sold under the "Pay What You Want Model." You can pay $0, $1, $10 - whatever you want. In order to make this work, everything will be digital. My workbooks will be PDFs, the courses are online, etc.

I STILL HAVE COSTS

My monthly cost to operate MYGEDLIVE.COM is $288. I hope to at least break even with people paying something in the "Pay What You Want Model" and donations from kind people to have access to everything I offer. I am prepared to personally shoulder these costs for up to 2 years and then we'll see what happens from there.

Thank you for staying on my email list! Thank you for taking my practice tests. Thank you for letting me know when you pass a test using my courses - it makes my day! Thank you for not giving up on yourself and sticking with your goal of passing the GED Tests. Thank you for trying. Thank you for being a huge part of my life and one of the things that I hang my hat on in terms of what I have contributed to society at large!

I feel so good, now that this email is written. It's done. No more expectation of profit between me and my students. No more thinking about how many sales I've earned in a month.

One more confession, then I'll end this email. It used to drive me nuts when people would email me and ask me if I had any free worksheets to help them. I would think "You can't even buy a $15 workbook from me?!" But now, I am free from all that. Now, my answer is "yes, how many would you like?!"
